Do not buy anything Uncommon Goods. They are poorly run, have bad processes and even worse customer service.
I like to send my family different and fun gifts for Christmas and I thought I had selected a good option for Christmas 2023.

I purchased 5 sets of olive oil spices and a gourmet bottle of olive oil from Uncommon Goods. $80 per set for over $400 total. I thought everything was good until I received two separate texts today from my 2 nieces thanking us for this gift . .

. but they wondered what it was for since today is January 6, 2024. So, they both received our gift almost 2 weeks after Christmas, and one month after the promised delivery date. I immediately called customer service and they confirmed that all gifts left their warehouse in November but 2 out of 5 did not arrive until January 6 and one still hasnt been delivered.

I asked for credit on all 3 and they said it is not their responsibility once it leaves their warehouse. Bull! If they have the capabilities of tracking packages one month after the promised delivery date they should a have process in place to follow up on any package not delivered by the delivery date. And, 100% of this process could be completely automated.

So, either their management team is inept, lazy, cheap or does not care about their customers.
It is funny how every single holiday gift we ordered from Amazon (probably 35 in total) and other online companies arrived on time, but all gifts ordered from Uncommon Goods had a 60% fail rate.
I can write code and I would be happy to reprogram their system to automatically alert their logistics team, shipping partners and customers if any package is late.

My fee would be say, oh $400, but probably a lot more. I hate these people.

Uncommon Goods rep was wonderful. After hearing the story that the UPS office could not help us even though they knew their driver did not take a picture of the said gift at the door, Uncommon Goods not only replaced it, but made sure the package was sent in the soonest time possible. They aced the problem.

I have had nothing but great experiences with Uncommon Goods - in the absolute and relative to other companies that offer unique products like Uncommon Goods does. Delivery (luckily) has happened as expected. The goods are of high quality and are mostly what I expected. I did order a pair of earrings for my sister, and they were smaller than expected. But she liked them, so it was a non-issue in the end. I enjoy shopping their catalog and website because they present a wide variety of unique products, which makes gift giving novel and fun.

The Ship Post site to track my Uncommon Goods (UG) item stopped at Pennsylvania, and has not moved for days. The item is coming to California.

The tracker provided a DOD, as being yesterday. No package arrived. FedEx said they couldnt track it and advised me to call UG. The customer service representative was thoughtful, expressed empathy, and at least provided a possible explanation addressing my concern, stating that often the delivery folks do NOT post where the package is, even when they ask customers if they want to opt in on their choice to receive tracking updates!

He also reassured me on the actual date range, even though the Sure Post folks said it would be delivered by - yesterday. I appreciated the service support I received by the UG customer service support today.

Problem with manager and exchange process

I called and spoke with manager Chelsea to exchange my moms shoes in my sons backpack with my mom and someone in there for an even exchange just for a different color backpack different color shoes in size but the same product same style they denied my mom and my son exchange tell them they had to pay the difference when I just spoke with Chelsea she did not say that I called back and confirmed that that was my mother that wanted to text change the items she said that my mother was rude number, and she was denied my mother services because she was rude and making her pay extra one that was not the agreement when I called we were out of town so cost me $25 in gas and an hours worth of my time for them to treat my Mother of kidney failure like crap and my son who just committed almost committed suicide who is 11 years old, and I have a backpack for school text change when he had the same backpack anyway it was just a hassle

Don't bother calling for information...they will lie to you

I went out of my way to call them this morning because I couldn't get a proper answer through their site. Person who answered phone told me to order today (because I needed this gift to arrive by July 7th). I believed her. Just a few minutes ago I got an email stating delivery would be tomorrow (6/28) which is unacceptable. I called and spoke to a Nabelah who claimed they could not stop the order.

I have had the same terrible experience as many this year. Purchased online gift for friend on 12/3, promised delivery by 12/22, still no delivery as of 12/29. Customer service was truly awful, blaming the shipper. CS only offered me either refund if I return the item (which is being delivered directly to recipient) or a $5 gift certificate. CS Agent would not even transfer me to a supervisor as requested. I have had positive experiences finding unique gifts from this vendor in the past, but I will never purchase anything from UG in the future. Nor do I recommend anyone else do so. This kind of customer service is just not forgivable with so many options online.

I ordered the "Personalized Family Recipe Board." It was quite pricey at $117. The quality was HORRIBLE! I bought it as a Christmas and I was embarrassed to give it. The engraved recipe WAS NOT engraved; it was merely lightly written and could barely be read. It was a Recipe Board of junk. Don't order this over priced, low quality product. I am very disappointed.

Horrible customer service

Place an order on Nov 29 for Christmas gifts. Received email stating that the package shipped on Dec 1st. No origination scan by USPS. Three phone calls over two weeks to see why the package hasn't left the building. I was assured that it had and would arrive within 15 days of the original email on Dec 1st. It was coming from NY to PA. I could have walked it here in 15 days. Called today and was told that they would expedite a new package but are sold out of 3 of the 5 items.

I bought a bond bracelet and all of them (plus shipping) cost 4,141 Thai bath, and they already charged my credit card once and the payment was successful, but then they charged another time on my credit card so altogether I paid 8,282 Thai bath and I need 4,141 Thai bath back.

Do not order from these people!!! I read the bad reviews but I really wanted the product so I didn't listen to them - my bad. I ordered the Ultimate Homebrewer's Kit on Cyber Monday. On December 5th I received a Wine Barrel Guitar Rack that was addressed to me in New Hampshire but billed to someone who happened to have the same name as me in North Carolina. I emailed their customer service who gave me instructions on sending the wrong product back. I have been emailing every day since asking about my order. Every day I got a different answer - it would ship soon, it shipped but they didn't have a tracking number yet, etc. etc. On Sunday, they responded that it arrived on Dec 5th. I again explained I got the wrong item - sent them photos of the item and packing slip. They responded that Fed Ex must have lost my order (but the could not provide a tracking number). My husband called, spoke to a supervisor who assured him that the order would ship Monday, December 16th. A few hours later I received an email apologizing and saying that I would get a separate email with the tracking email. I emailed Tuesday, no response. Emailed Wednesday, no response. Emailed at 6 AM this morning (Thursday) no response. My husband called again and asked for a supervisor - they told him that "the artist" had not responded to their inquiries. My husband then explained AGAIN that we ordered a Homebrewing Kit. They told him they understood that but "an artist" makes them and since he/she was not responding they had no idea when my product was going to ship but I likely won't have it for Xmas. So for the past three weeks they outright lied to me saying it shipped, FedEx lost it, etc., etc. - I have wasted so much time dealing with them and now I don't have a gift and there is no time to order something similar elsewhere! I emailed them again asking them to cancel my order and issue a full credit - 8 hours later I still have not heard back.
